Coarse Sea Salt has also been taking the baking world by storm because people are putting it on cookies!!! Often time people use this kind of salt for steaks, not pastries. It's becoming an infamous idea to sprinkle this stuff on top of most cookies. It's suppose to be the final touches of all touches in improving the last minute taste. Who knew that a little salty could be just what people need more of in the upcoming year!
Next for trends, we have stuffed cookies. Apparently people are losing their minds over cookies that are filled with surprised ooey gooey goodness. There are many recipes that fill pastries with peanut butter, nutella, jelly, or custard. It's deliciousness is on the incline as people are waiting to see more of this in 2019!
Waste Not is a trend that does stray a bit far from the idea of cookies, but its a trend that has gained a lot of footing this year and might take next year by a storm. No more straws. Plastic straws have been the a big deal in pollution and bio hazards for wildlife☣. It's a trend that is looking to do better for our world by getting rid of them. We shall see if it takes off.
Lastly, the for breakfast trend is the thing that surprised me the most. There are people out there who are looking to start incorporating bacon, hashbrowns, and flavors like cinnamon roll into cookies! The root of the trend to maybe make it possible to have cookies for breakfast. Whether that is possible or popular yet, it was an interesting idea that could come back to haunt us in 2019 and beyond.
